Dear candidates for public office
For more than 67 years candidates for public office have sought the coveted endorsement of the Metropolitan Democratic Club of Seattle. We applaud your decision to run for office and invite you to seek our endorsement for the 2023 primary at our 10th Annual Chautauqua Afternoon.
In the past our Chautauqua Afternoon has been a festive outdoor event where candidates come to speak briefly and to mingle with MDC members and friends. This year we will conduct these pre-endorsement proceedings in three stages at our regular MDC meeting times: a Zoom meeting April 26, noon – 1:30 pm, a Zoom meeting May 24, noon – 1:30 pm, and a meeting at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 911 Stewart St, Seattle, noon – 1:30 pm.
The MDC’s primary endorsement proceedings will take place by Zoom at our regular June 28 meeting, noon 1:30 pm. Candidates are welcome to join us for the proceedings but are not invited to speak at that time.
If you’re not a member of the MDC, we invite you to become one. You will join a long list of past and present public officeholders. Promote your candidacy by becoming a Chautauqua Afternoon sponsor at $125; this includes a one-year membership in the MDC. Join or become a sponsor at www.metrodems.org.
