Primary Endorsements 2023

The Metropolitan Democratic Club of Seattle has endorsed the following candidates running in the 2023 primary:

• John Wilson for reelection to King County Assessor

• Julie Wise for reelection to King County Director of Elections

• Girmay Zahilay for reelection to King County Council District 2

• Claudia Balducci for reelection to King County Council District 6

• Tanya Woo for Seattle City Council District 2

• Joy Hollingsworth for Seattle City Council District 3

• Kenneth Wilson for Seattle City Council District 4

• Pete Hanning for Seattle City Council District 6

• Gina Topp for Seattle School Board District 6

• Sam Cho for reelection to Port of Seattle Position 2

• Fred Felleman for reelection to Port of Seattle Position 5

• Krystal Marx for Burien City Council

• Kate Kruller for mayor of Tukwila

• An early endorsement was voted for Justin Simmons for Seattle City Council District 5.

In the following races, there was no endorsement as no candidate received a majority of the votes:

• King County Council District 8

• Seattle City Council Districts 1 and 7

• Seattle School Board Districts 1 and 3

If a candidate endorsed by the MDC in the primary does not survive the primary election, the race in which the candidate was competing will appear on the MDC’s general endorsement ballot along with races in which there was no primary endorsement
